Karrie Hopper - An Unusual Move CD
First of all… this CD has nice packaging! Now that I’ve got that out of the way, let me say that the music is also nice. It’s gentle, mellow, friendly, bare-bones (essentially acoustic guitar/vocals, but sometimes augmented with backing vocals, piano, accordion, cello, violin, bells, etc…) music that I can imagine seeing performed in a coffee shop. Of course, this is better than most anything I’ve seen performed in coffee shops…and I’ll tell you why! Karrie’s voice has a certain enchanting, sweet quality and the instruments compliment it well. That’s all there is to it, really. It’s comforting music. If I have any complaints about the CD, it’s that it doesn’t change much. The songs are fairly similar, and although I enjoy all of them, the disc seems much longer than its 37 minutes. However, I still heartily recommend this disc to anyone reading this.
